(emphasis added) In the wake of this recent national controversy, I’ve been asking for The University Of Texas to take steps to improve its diversity outreach and action plan for the 2017-18 academic year, and have asked The Board to require it to, by 2018.* It has to do this by making some changes from student-reviewed programming to teaching staff composition, racial equity training, and the like. We shouldn’t just pay tribute to those left to suffer beneath the same toxic ideology.

And they must require our community leaders to take responsibility for addressing our post-racial, post-work/online community, which has been the largest beneficiary of the success of countless social movements including the Black Lives Matter movement.
